System Information
You give your Pipeline 220 a unique network identity with these system parameters. If you use Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) to manage your network, you can read the values in Contact and Location from your management application.
You can also read the value in Name from your SNMP management application, but Name has an added purpose that makes it a required field, regardless of whether or not you use SNMP.
The Pipeline 220 sends Name to any remote device whenever it establishes a Point-To-Point (PPP) link. The remote device uses it as the Pipeline 220's username. You need to ensure that all remote devices to which your Pipeline 220 connects are aware of this value. Otherwise, you might have connection problems caused by authentication failures.
