IPX and AppleTalk Protocols
Both Novell's IPX protocol and Apple's AppleTalk protocols are widely used by many companies.
IPX
If your are connecting your Pipeline 220 to an Novell network, select the Enable IPX Routing box.
IPX can be routed using different Ethernet frame types, so you need to specify the frame type that your IPX network uses. The Pipeline 220 supports routing one frame type.
If you are connecting your Pipeline 220 to an existing IPX network, configure Network Number variable with the network address of that network. This value is analogous to the External Net Number configured on a Novell server. All devices that share a physical cable share the same external network number. Network Number on your Pipeline 220 needs to match the external network number of the cable it is joining. See your IPX network administrator.
AppleTalk
If your are connecting your Pipeline 220 to an AppleTalk network, select the Enable AppleTalk checkbox. The zone name you specify is the zone where your Pipeline 220 advertises its services. Typically, AppleTalk users see devices grouped in zones by using the Macintosh Chooser.
