HiPath 5000 RSM/AllServe Speed Upgrade from V8 to V9 |
Overview |
| If a speed upgrade from V8 to V9 is to be performed for the HiPath 3000, and the node is already in an RSM network, the node must be removed from the network before the speed upgrade and then added back to it. |
Initial problem |
| A HiPath 3000 V8 node is located in an RSM network. This node has already been added to the DB Feature Server. The service technician performs a speed upgrade for this HiPath 3000 V8 node to HiPath 3000 V9 by changing the MMC. After the speed upgrade, an attempt is made via File -> Transfer -> and the "PC -> System" button to transfer changes to this HiPath 3000 V9. However, an error message such as "KDS <-> System inkompatibel" or "CDB <-> System incompatible" now appears in the "Transfer" window. |
Procedure to resolve the problem |
| 1. | Remove the relevant HiPath 3000 V8 node from the DB Feature Server in HiPath 3000 Manager E via File -> HiPath 5000 RSM/AllServe -> Delete -> HiPath 3000. |
| 2. | Then go to the RSM dialog and click on the button to delete the node. |
| 3. | Perform the speed upgrade from V8 to V9 for this node. |
| 4. | Add the node back using HiPath 3000 Manager E via File -> HiPath 5000 RSM/AllServe -> New -> HiPath 3000 -> Add new node -> Next. In the "Enter Source" window, enter the option Load from system and click Finish. |
| 5. | Then go to the RSM dialog and click on the button to add a node. It should now be possible to transfer changes to the HiPath 3000 V9 via File -> Transfer -> "PC -> System" button. |
