Network-wide HFA mobility with DLS |
| This feature makes it possible for the feature "IP Mobility" (Section 11.11 "IP Mobility (Mobile user logon, Mobile HFA)") to be operated in a networked TDM or IP environment with a closed numbering plan. |
| This feature is controlled via a DLS (Deployment and Licensing server). The DLS is responsible for sending the correct registration information to the mobile workpoint clients which are not logged on to their home nodes. |
Prerequisites |
| • | IP Mobility is configured at every node in exactly the same way as described in Section 11.11 "IP Mobility (Mobile user logon, Mobile HFA)". |
| • | A DLS is configured in the data network of the customer and can be reached from all required nodes. |
Configuration of the DLS for network-wide HFA mobility |
| The special settings at the DLS for network-wide HFA mobility are: |
| • | Importing the configuration of every node into the DLS using the Element Manager (including the configuration of the mobile workpoint clients). The mobile workpoint clients are virtual telephones at the DLS. |
| • | In the Element Manager, under "IP Device Configuration", set the flag "Use for HFA Mobility with HiPath 3000" for every mobile workpoint client in every node. |
Operating procedure |
| Activate (mobile user logon) = *9419 + mobile station number + password (password is optional if not configured) |
| The mobile workpoint tries to log on at the current node by using the entered mobile phone number. The message "Logging On to Home" is briefly shown on the display unit. The logon fails because the mobile workpoint client is not not configured at this node. The message "Mobile Log On failed" is shown at the top of the display and the message "Contacting DLS" at the bottom of the display. The workpoint then sends an inquiry about the mobility configuration to the DLS. Thereafter, the DLS sends the correct logon information, which makes it possible for the mobile workpoint client to log on to the correct home node. |
