DIUT2 |
Introduction |
| HiPath 3000/5000 V7 Minor Release 5 and higher supports the use of the DIUT2 board (Digital Interface Unit Trunk 2) in HiPath 3800. |
| The DIUT2 board is a compatible successor to the following boards: |
| • | DIU2U (S30810-Q2216-X) (for U.S. only) |
| • | DIUN2 (S30810-Q2196-X) |
| The board features two ports for the following: |
| • | S2M trunk connection (over NT) |
| • | S2M networking via S2M lines |
| • | T1-PRI (Primary Rate Interface) trunk connection (for U.S. only) |
| • | T1 analog trunk connection (for U.S. only) |
| A total of up to three DIUT2 and/or DIUN2 boards can be installed in a system. When used as a T1 trunk connection (PRI or analog), a system can accommodate up to four DIUT2 and/or DIU2U boards. |
|
Front panel |
The front of this board does not require an additional plate because EMC shielding has already been achieved by the front panel. |
Backplane |
| System interfaces X1 to X9 are located on the backplane. They are designed as SIPAC connectors. |

Definition of application and connection type |
| The board is configured via the loadware once the application and connection type have been selected. |
| • | The application type is selected with HiPath 3000/5000 Manager E: System status - System-wide - SW expansion - Card selection |
| The following options are available: |
| - | DIUT2 T1 S2: for use as an S2M interface (S2M trunk connection, S2M network) |
| - | DIUT2 T1: for use as a T1 interface (T1-PRI trunk connection) |
| - | DIUT2 T1 analog: for use as a T1 interface for T1 analog (T1 analog trunk connection) |
| • | The connection type is selected with HiPath 3000/5000 Manager E: System status - System-wide - SW expansion - Card data. |
| The following options are available: |
| - | DIUT2 T1 S2 mod., DIUT2 T1 mod., DIUT2 T1 analog mod.: for connection via fiber optic cable The fiber optic cable is only connected via the front panel. The opto-electronic converter AMOM must be used to connect a fiber optic cable to the 15-pin Sub-D jacks on the front panel. |
| - | DIUT2 T1 S2, DIUT2 T1, DIUT2 T1 analog: for connection via copper cable (system cable S30267-Z167-Axxx) The copper cable is only connected via the 15-pin Sub-D jacks on the front panel. |
| The connection type setting always applies to both interfaces in a board. Different connection types cannot be used at the same time. |
| Both interfaces can be operated with different versions of the AMOM adapter (see AMOM versions). |
| The DIUN2 board automatically performs a reload after switching the connection type to load the loadware for the connection type. |
